Peru's Guerrero says to extend int'l career until 2022 World Cup

(MENAFN) Peru captain Paolo Guerrero was unveiled to be seeking a place in international football until the 2022 World Cup.

The Peruvian captain explained that he plans to extend his stay in the career since he can still be a potent force into his late 30s.

Guerrero stressed that his fitness and ambition are indicators that age would not be a hindrance in his bid to play in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, if Peru qualified.

During a press conference, the 34-year-old stated "Inter's structure is fantastic, among the best for getting me physically prepared and arriving in optimal condition for the next [World Cup], which is my desire and one of my goals."

The former Bayern Munich striker added "I can firmly say that I'm happy and anxious to play as soon as possible. I'm going to give it all that I've got."
