Oman climbs 4 notches in global competitiveness ranking: WEF

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Oman has ranked sixth in the Arab World Competitiveness Report 2018 issued by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on its website.

The report said that the sultanate has climbed four positions globally to reach 62nd place as a result of improvements in macroeconomic environment, higher education, training and infrastructure.

The WEF report was based on 12 factors including education, infrastructure, labour market dynamics, training and rehabilitation. The reported affirmed that the Arab countries need to provide 58mn job opportunities by 2040 to maintain current job search rates, which will require creating more jobs if they want to reduce these rates.
