Sudanese president attends graduation ceremony of Qatari cadets


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Sudanese President Field Marshal Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir, the Commander in Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces attended on Sunday the graduation ceremony of batch 64 B of Qatari cadets at the Stadium of the Military College in Omdurman.
The ceremony was part of the Sudanese Army's celebrations of graduating a number of batches from the local military colleges in the presence of Sudanese Minister of Defence Staff Lieutenant General Awad Mohamed Ahmed bin Aouf, Sudanese Joint Chief of Staff Lt General Kamal Abdul Maarouf al-Mahi, Major General Sami Bakheet al-Jattal, representative of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs - Qatari Military Attache to Sudan as well as a number of ministers, senior officers of the armed forces and military attaches from friendly countries.
After reviewing a military parade, the Sudanese President honoured students who excelled in their studies. A total of 108 Qatari cadets had received theoretical and practical military training that qualified them to graduate as second lieutenants who will work in the Qatari Armed Forces. They spent one-and-a-half years at the Sudanese Military College for training from March 2017, and specialised in various related courses including reconnaissance, special operations and others. The graduation ceremony was attended by a number of the families of some graduates who travelled from Doha to Khartoum.
