Amir holds phone talkwith Turkish president
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held yesterday evening a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the phone call, they reviewed the strategic bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, in addition to the latest regional and international developments. The Amir and the Turkish president stressed the need to continue consultation and exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.

Amir condoles withKuwaiti leader
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani sent yesterday cables of condolences to the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah on the death of Sheikha Fareeha al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, widow of the late Sheikh Rashed al-Humoud al-Jaber al-Sabah.

Afghan election officeattack condemned
Qatar has strongly condemned the attack on the office of Afghanistan's Election Commission in Kabul, killing one policeman and injuring another. In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of motives and reasons. It expressed Qatar's condolences to the victims' families, the government and the people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
