DOHA: The 7th Heaven Arts Center yesterday announced partnership with a number of prominent community-service oriented institutions including Katara Cultural Village Foundation and Qatar Cancer Society among others.

The 7th Heaven Arts Center, a social organisation, also announced appointment of Dr Nabil AI Filtkawi as General Director of the Center.

Dr Nabil is a Ph.D in Philosophy of Arts from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom. He also holds the post of current President of the Kuwaiti Artists Syndicate, as well as serves as an Assistant to the Deputy Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) in the State of Kuwait. Talking to The Peninsula, Al Filtkawi said: 'I feel honoured to be assigned as general director of the Center, I would be more than happy to contribute and teach arts professionally especially to the young students of the Center.

During the conference, AI Aathem announced the Center's partnership with a number of prominent community-service oriented institutions, including the (Katara) Cultural Village Foundation and the Qatar Cancer Society, among others.

The partnerships are centred on the objective of fostering an arts culture and supporting talents in the local community, which encompasses integrating children with special needs in society and enhancing their self-confidence through artistic expression.

AI Aathem also highlighted the Center's latest partnership with 'Innovation Films, a Qatari Multimedia company specialising in film and television production aimed at exporting film-making globally. The conference was also attended by Mohammad AI Hammadi, Innovation Films Executive Producer and Board Member, who expressed his great pleasure in collaborating with 7th Heaven Visual Art Center to give birth to a new generation of young Qatari filmmakers.

7th Heaven Visual Art Center was founded by renowned Qatari artist Amal AI Aathem, who represented Qatar at many international events and whose artwork is acclaimed at the local and international levels. Sharing her inspiration behind the establishment of the Center, AI Aathem said it emanated from her strong belief that Qatar — being a regional and international leader in the art and culture domain — has the capacity to nurture and empower a generation of artists capable of bolstering the peninsula's eminent status as a regional and international hub for art, culture, and peace, stressing how arts can bring people together and establish a common language through which they can connect and communicate. This passion for spreading arts culture played a pivotal role in the Center's noteworthy achievements despite its young three-year history, during which its services successfully reached 6,115 aspiring artists, young and old, and its programs honed the artistic skills of beginners and professionals alike.

Al Aathem also shed a light on the Center's more than 15 diverse programs which cover a multitude of art disciplines such as painting, sculpture, paper recycling, ceramics, fashion design, photography, print, handicrafts, sewing, silk art, calligraphy, glass painting, mosaic, and more.

The Center has also helped 256 entrepreneurs develop their skills to establish and grow their small projects while taking quality and cost into account. AI Aathem and Al Fillkawi presented certificates of appreciation to the media representatives, who were recognised as the Center's partners in its success through their contributions in communicating the Center's worthy message to the public, which in turn helped fuel its growth in record time.
