King Abdullah II: Jordan will always fight terrorism

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Aug 12 (KUNA) -- Jordanian King Abdullah II said on Sunday that his country's main target is to fight terrorism, and will not allow any terrorist organization to threaten its safety.
This came during a meeting chaired by King Abdullah II, held to discus the recent terrorist act that targeted a patrol of the public security forces in Jordan.
In a statement by Jordanian Court Royal, King Abdullah II stressed the need to stand against extremist ideologies, vowing that his country will punish anyone who tries to undermine its security.
The talks were attended by Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, the Prime Minister and several top officials.
Clashes erupted in a raid on a terror cell suspected to have been behind Friday's bomb blast that targeted a security checkpoint in Amman killing one officer.
The Royal Court of Jordan announced today three days of mourning for those who died in this operation. (end) ab.aa
