(MENAFN) Lebanon has reportedly successfully completed the transport of the third Turkish power barge from Jiyyeh to Zouk Mikael.
Elnashra cited caretaker Energy Minister Cesar Abi Khalil: "the power barge will provide people in Kesrouan and some areas in Metn and Byblos with electricity, which is cheaper than what we are currently producing."
The minister explained the reason behind the move was because the power barge was not capable of operating at full capacity in Jiyyeh.
Turkish Karadeniz Energy Group owns Esra-Sultan, the power barge, and is to produce 200 MW of electricity gratis for the first three months.
