(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) Five suspected terrorists and kidnappers have been separately arrested in capital Kabul and western Herat province, the spy-network said Saturday.
A statement from the National Directorate of security (NDS) said the detainees included Attiqullah, a senior Taliban member. He was detained during a special raid in the 3rd police district of Kabul.
The NDS statement said Attiqullah had confessed to his crimes and his recruitment to the insurgent group by commander Hakimullah in central Logar province.
His latest task was to make videos of security check-posts in Kabul and report them to Taliban insurgents.
The detainee had been planning an attack on security forces but he was held by NDS personnel before reaching his target, the statement claimed.
The statement also said three persons involved in terrorist activities and kidnappings had been arrested in Shindand district of Herat province.
A fifth alleged kidnapper was detained in the same province, the statement said without revealing the exact time of the arrests.
