GWC wins 'Microsoft Digital Transformation' award


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar's leading logistics provider GWC was recognised by Microsoft for its outstanding achievements in leading the company's digital transformation, during an award ceremony in Doha recently.
The ceremony sheds light on local organisations, which accomplish 'amazing feats in the face of a new, more complex and competitive digital world, setting the technology agenda for the industry, and helping shape the business transformation in Qatar.
GWC said it 'continuously relies on information technology to achieve its strategic and business aims.
In 2018, the company established its new technology subsidiary, LEDD Technologies, as a means to equip clients with the technology services and solutions needed to enable their business transformation needs locally.
During the award ceremony, senior director (Corporate IT) at GWC and general manager (LEDD Technologies) Maged Kamal received the award on behalf of the company.
'We are grateful to be recognised for our commitment in setting the agenda and leading the wave on the country's pursuit of digital transformation, with a special emphasis on logistics-based solutions, stated Kamal.
'Proper digital transformation in business is now a direct need that must be addressed economy-wide if we are to meet our commitments and reach our goals as set by the Qatar National Vision 2030, he added.
Established as a Qatari public shareholding company in 2004; GWC offers 'high-quality warehousing and distribution services, hazmat logistics, freight forwarding, project logistics, sports and event logistics, equestrian logistics, fine art logistics, supply chain consulting, transportation management, records management, and door-to-door moving and relocation services.
