Egypt awards Veolia contract for water treatment plants

(MENAFN) Egypt's Electricity Holding Company has present France's Veolia with a contract to build and establish water and wastewater treatment plants for Assiut Supercritical Power Plant and Cairo West Power Plant.

Veolia subsidiary Veolia Water Technologies is working to meet the needs of the water and wastewater treatment.

The global lender has been selected as the winner of the contract because of its wide experience in the power generation market in Egypt and in the Middle East, along with its technical expertise in the process and design of wastewater treatment systems for supercritical power plants.

Veolia Water Technologies Middle East's chief operating officer Thierry Froment said "we are committed to our promise of resourcing the world and continue to bring this commitment to Egypt, as seen with our partnership with Egyptian Electricity Holding Company."

The chief added "through Veolia Water Technologies' customized design, build and operational services and treatment facilities we are able to cater to the Egyptian market's needs. We are proud to be part of the solution of addressing the water scarcity and power outages in the country."
