(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BERLIN, June 25 (KUNA) -- The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC) expressed content over having Kuwait's Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as a guest of honor at the 2018 Arab Economic Forum.
GACIC Secretary General Abdulaziz Al-Mekhlafi, in a statement to KUNA on Sunday, expressed satisfaction over having His Highness the Premier as a guest.
He noted that cooperation between both Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and GACIC is going perfectly well, and there is an interchangeable economic-political relationship between Kuwait and Germany. Kuwait is considered one of first investors in Germany, with an estimated volume of around USD 35 billion.
Furthermore, Al-Mekhlafi expressed his appreciation for the Kuwaiti role to encourage dialogue and peaceful methods to solve conflicts, stressing that Kuwait contributions has an international resonance that is a source of pride for Arab nations.
According to GACIC, the 2017 trade volume between Arab countries and Germany was around USD 55 billion, an increment of about 33.9 percent than 2016.
Arab investments in Germany have also expanded recently to reach around USD 116 billion.
The three-day Forum will involve more than 600 businesspeople and experts, as well as discussion sessions for direct investments and knowledge exchange, supporting the manufacturing plans, management of digital transformation and major enterprise infrastructures.
Other issues on the agenda include food industry, cooperation on agriculture and sustainable food security. There will also be a workshop themed (Kuwait: Sustainable growth and development). (end) anj.mah
