Nepal to play their first ODI series against the Netherlands

It's a historic moment for Nepalese cricket as the south Asian country will be plying their trade in a 2-match ODI series against the Netherlands in August.
Nepal became another nation to gain ODI status after they finished eight in the ICC World Cup Qualifier, which took place in March.
The two matches against Netherlands will be held on August 1 and 3.

Nepal had last met Netherlands in 2018 World Cup Qualifier and lost the tie as the European outfit beat them by 45 runs.
Netherlands will be back to the ODI fold after a period of five long years.
Netherlands had lost their ODI status after a dismal performance in 2014 World Cup Qualifier.
Hence, this series beckons a historic moment for both sides.

According to reports, Netherlands coach Ryan Campbell has stated that they are delighted to host Nepal at home.
The coach added that Netherlands cricket team want to show their fans what they are capable of.
He also felt that Nepal are an exciting opponent which makes this a crucial series.
Lamichhane brings star power for Nepal
Nepal's wrist-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will be the star attraction of the series. The youngster got a chance to play in the IPL 2018 and he proved his mettle there. He is the only Nepalese cricketer to play in the cash rich league.
