Uruzgan: 3 women from Chora district join Daesh


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Daesh - or so-called Islamic state (IS) -rebels have recruited three women in the Chora district of central Uruzgan province, an official said on Wednesday.

Provincial Council Chairman Amir Mohammad Barikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the number of IS fighters had increased in the Ash Zaio locality of the district over the past few months.

He said the terrorist group€™s activities and recruitment drive had been ongoing across the province. The militants had recruited three women from Khush Qadeer area. The women are helping the fighters with supplies.

Aminullah Khaliqi, the district€™s administration chief, confirmed hoisting of Daesh flags in some areas. But after a few hours, he said, residents removed the flags.

Khaliqi said the Daesh fighters were former Taliban militants. Neither of the militant outfits has commented yet on the issue.
