Morocco denounces Israeli attacks against Palestinian protesters


(MENAFN) The Moroccan Foreign Ministry declared the country to have denounced the Israeli violent crackdown on unarmed Palestinian protesters.

Israeli forces have opened fire against demonstrators marking the 42nd anniversary of the Land Day, leading to seventeen deaths and over 1,400 injuries.

In its statement, the ministry announced "Morocco denounces the use of excessive force by the Israeli occupying forces in defiance of the peaceful nature of the demonstrations."

It added "Morocco reiterates its support for the Palestinian Authority under the leadership of president Mahmoud Abbas and its solidarity with the Palestinian people to recover their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
