Jordan: 100 SMEs to join EU funded program


(MENAFN) A total of 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and 60 innovative startups from across Jordan will join an EU funded program at the aim of improving their productivity and generating more jobs.

"The EU supports the Jordanian private sector and wants to make sure that companies grow, new jobs are created and Jordanian products gain more access to the world's most competitive markets," said EU delegation chief EU Ambassador to Jordan Andrea Matteo Fontana during ceremony to launch the project on Sunday.

Located in the capital, Amman, the project will target boosting technical and management capacity within the enterprise and entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Also, it will increase the private sector competitiveness, through working with various business service providers, local Jordanian intermediaries, and a diverse group of other intermediaries, including incubators, chambers of commerce, and the industry.
