Jordan calls on Egypt to resume gas export

(MENAFN) Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh requested his Egyptian counterpart, Tareq Al-Mulla, for the resumption of pumping natural gas from Cairo to Amman, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

Amman hosted the meeting of the two parties who discussed challenges facing the energy sector in the two Arab nations, Petra revealed.

The pipeline pumping the gas to Jordan has been halted after a series of terrorist attacks destroyed the line several times.

Egypt Gas has recently signed a USD13 million agreement with Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENNPI) to install a steel pipeline in Jordan.
