(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) Armed police closed a street after reports of a double shooting in Sussex.
Unconfirmed reports from the scene suggest a pregnant woman was one of the victims.
Residents were ordered to stay indoors after shots were reportedly fired in the suburb of St Leonards, Hastings, just before 8pm.
The area was locked down and armed officers stopped all cars from driving through.
A man has now been arrested in connection with the incident.
A resident described how armed officers took cover behind her car - as police helicopters flew overhead.
Sussex Police said: "We are responding to a reports of a shooting at a property in Bexhill Road, St Leonards.
"Please stay away from the area and remain indoors until more information is available. This is not a terrorist-related incident."
The force later added: "A man has been arrested and is in custody in relation to a shooting incident in Bexhill Road, St Leonards."
