Kuwait University crowned Champions of Ministries Football League


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Under the auspices of Director of Public Authority for Sports Dr Hamoud Fleiteh, the final match of the Ministries Football League Championship for ministries and state institutions was held on February 28 at the stadium of Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) in Shuwaikh area.

Secretary-General of Kuwait University Dr Muthanna Al-Rifai, Assistant Secretary-General for Facilities Dr Adam Al-Mulla and a number of university officials were present to offer moral support to their team.

For the first time in the university's history, Kuwait University won the championship by defeating Ministry of Education with a massive score of 5-1 in an exciting six-goal thriller during which the KU team displayed ideal team spirit. The team were well prepared technically, which enabled them to emerge as the champions.

The top three teams were honored during the closing ceremony - Kuwait University as the champions, Ministry of Education as runners-up and Ministry of Electricity and Water as second runners-up. The members of these three teams were all honored with medals. The prizes for the best player, best goalkeeper, best admin, best coach and best team were sponsored and presented by Public Authority for Sports.
