Jordan- FM conveys King's message to Japanese PM

Tokyo, Mar. 9 (Petra)-- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi conveyed a message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on bilateral ties and Jordan's appreciation for Japan's key role in enhancing security and stability in the Middle East region.
Safdi also conveyed a similar message from Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki on promoting cooperation between Amman and Tokyo.
Talks, in Tokyo, focused on the latest developments in the region, including the Palestinian cause, the US decision over Jerusalem, the Syrian refugee crisis, and UNRWA.
Safadi invited his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono to attend a conference to assist UNRWA in overcoming a major funding gap.
The conference will take place on March 15 in Rome, as Jordan, Egypt and Sweden are slated to co-host the gathering.
Fighting terrorism was figured high during the meeting between Safadi and Kono, as the two sides stressed the need to confront this phenomenon which threats everyone.
The Japanese minister briefed Safadi on the latest developments related to North Korea's nuclear program.
