(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 16 (Petra)-- Hundreds of marched in Amman following Friday prayers, protesting a recent government decision to hike the prices of foodstuffs and bread.
Protesters chanted slogans urging the government to reduce prices and abandon tax hikes on the vital goods.
They also called on the government to reverse its decision and consider other options to plug the budget deficit.
Similar protests were staged in other governorates, including Ma'an, Madaba and the Southern Mazzar in Karak.
