Kuwait- Private property on Failaka to be assessed

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: The Council of Ministers has assigned four government agencies to conduct a comprehensive survey and enumerate the private properties on Failaka Island, reports Aljarida daily.

This is in preparation for assessment and evaluation of the island prior to incorporating it under state properties as well as to kickstart the execution of the project for development of islands and the Silk City project in accordance with New Kuwait 2035 vision.

According to informed sources, the four agencies are Kuwait Municipality, Public Authority for Housing Welfare, Ministry of Justice, and Expropriation for Public Welfare Department. Several meetings took place last month, and these agencies are close to finishing the enumeration process of private properties on the island.

The project for development of islands is of a huge significance for not only Kuwait but only the region. New horizons of cooperation with neighboring countries particularly Iraq and Iran are expected to be opened to create a fertile attractive environment for investment and residence as well as an exceptional free trade zone that will serve north of the Gulf region.
