Baghlan civic activists want government to free grabbed lands


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Civil society activists in northern Baghlan province have asked the government to get back usurped lands from land grabbers.

The protesting activists gathered in front of the Provincial Council office and demanded the government to get back the grabbed lands.

They performed land grabbing drama by distributing the road in front of the Municipality to plots and chanted slogans against land grabbing.

They accused the government for not being able to get back grabbed state lands and said the local authorities were unable to free the state lands.

Earlier, the local Land Authority had said that over 14,000 acres land had been grabbed by 1,744 individuals in Baghlan province.
