(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- A Limited fire broke out, but was put under control at one service room in one of the restaurants at Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural center, and not causing any human injuries or heavy material damage, the fire department said Friday.
In a statement, the fire department said their team evacuated the center from all workers and visitors, in a precaution measure and for safety.
The statement noted after safety and security measures were implemented, the center was back to normal, but restaurant area will remain closed, until tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Abdulaziz Ishaq, President of the Executive Committee for the establishment of cultural centers at the Amiri Diwan, said the fire occurred in one of the services rooms in one restaurant at 5:59 p.m. local time.
Ishaq added the restaurants area would remained closed for the evening, and work will be back to normal tomorrow (Saturday).
The executive committee chief thanks the fire department for their swift response and professional handling of the incident. (end) ays.mb
