Jordan- Police nab suspected bank robber, retrieve stolen cash

Amman, Feb. 8 (Petra)-Police on Thursday arrested a suspect in connection with the armed robbery of a bank branch in Al Madinah Al Riyadiah neighborhood here earlier in the day.

Police said they were alerted a mystery man robbed the bank at the said Amman area at gun-point and fled the scene with the stolen cash, according to a security source.

After the suspect's footage was circulated, a police patrol chased the offender, put him into custody and retrieved the stolen sum of money, said the source.

The culprit, Mohammed Munir Jamil, had a criminal record with six offences and further investigation is underway to refer him to the public prosecutor of the State Security Court (SSC), added the source.
