Turkey's offensive destroys school in Afrin

(MENAFN) Destroying part of a primary school and a water station in Afrin, the Turkish troops launched a new offensive on Thursday, Syrian Kurdish fighters and state media reported on Wednesday. But a Turkish military source denied the allegations.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, monitoring the war from its headquarters in Britain, said that the Turkish forces damaged the station, which is nine kilometers north-east of the city of Afrin.

The observatory said the facility provides water to hundreds of thousands of residents and displaced people in the Afrin area

Meanwhile, a statement issued by the Turkish General Staff said that the two soldiers were killed in "attacks of the PKK, the Democratic Union Party, the People's Protection Units and the Daesh organization on elements of the Turkish armed forces."
