Jordan- 2,142 people visit Islamic shrines in Mazar in January


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Southern Mazar, Feb.4 (Petra) -- A total of 2,142 people visited the tombs of Prophet Mohammad's companions in Southern Mazar in January, the supervisor of the shrines, Mohammad Sarairah, said Sunday.

Some 1,410 visitors came from Islamic and foreign countries, 282 from Arab states , while 450 were Jordanians.

The shrines of the prophet's companions who died in Mutah Battle witness steady religious tourism from inside and outside the Kingdom, due to the stability and security of the country, Sarairah added.
