Jordan's government supports USD7.3bn Jordan Response Plan

(MENAFN) The three-year Jordan Response Platform (JRP) for the Syrian Crisis valued at $7.3 billion has received support from the Jordanian government as well as the international community.

The JRP's plan is targeting sufficient grants to be provided along with concessional funding to address the required general budget for the following three years.

Prime Minister Hani Mulki stated "situation in Syria and the unprecedented refugee crisis have been globally recognised as the worst humanitarian disaster the world has faced since the World War II, posing an increasing threat to global security, development and economic growth."

He continued "seven years into the Syrian crisis, the prospects of an impending return to Syria for the 4 millions displaced around the globe are still remote. Even if a peaceful solution materialises, it will take years to rebuild Syria and for Syrians to resettle."
