Indonesian president arrives in Kabul


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrived in Kabul on official visit on Monday.

Second Vice President Sarwar Danish received the dignitary at around 12:30pm at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Widodo would discuss wide range of issues. The two presidents would discuss a joint press conference after delegation level talks.

During his trip to Islamabad two days ago, Widodo told President Mamnoon Hussain that his country could play a key role in the Afghan peace process.

He suggested the formation of a committee of religious scholars from Indonesia, Pakistan and Afghanistan to promote peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
