3 suffocate in Amman factory fire


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) -- Three people suffered breathing problems from smoke inhalation after a fire broke out on Monday at a potato chips factory in Southern Amman, according to the Civil Defence Department (CDD).

Fire fighters rushed to the scene, near the Amman Customs premises, and put down the blaze under the personal supervision of CDD Director General, Mustafa Al-Bazai'a, it said in a statement.

It said ambulance crews administered first aid to the injured and transferred them to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in good condition, adding that a special team was assigned to investigate the cause of the fire.
