Jordan- Dams now 36.6% full after latest rain ministry


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 27 (Petra)--Rainfall and snow over the past 48 hours channelled 3 million cubic metres of water into the country's 14 dams, according to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.

The country's major dams now hold over 36.6 per cent of their total capacity of 336.1 million cubic metres (mcm) of water.

"Rainfall over the past two days raised the amount of rain since the start of the wet season to over 123.1 million cubic metres," the ministry said, adding that current water storage at the dams is below storage levels recorded during this time last year, when they held 143.2mcm per cent of their total capacity.
