Deputy PM holds meetings on sidelines of Davos Forum


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani yesterday held meetings with leaders of several countries on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met Britain's Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means of supporting and developing them, in addition to issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani.
The President of Guinea Alpha Conde also met HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, on the sidelines of Davos Economic Forum.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the president of Guinea and his wishes to the people of Guinea for further progress and prosperity.
Guinea's president reciprocated the greetings of the Emir, wishing him good health and happiness and the Qatari people progress, development and prosperity.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and means of boosting them, as well as issues of common concern.
HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani also held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Tsogtbaatar Damdin and Prime Minister of Somalia Hassan Ali Khaire.
During the meetings, bilateral relations and means of boosting them, in addition to issues of common concern.
Separately, HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi met a number of ministers, state officials and chairmen of boards of directors of international banks and financial institutions, on the sidelines of World Economic Forum in Davos.
HE al-Emadi met Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Raed Khoury and Swiss Economy Minister Johann Schneider, in addition to a number of officials participating in the forum.
The meetings are part of Qatar's commitment to promote and develop diplomatic and economic relations with the various members of the international community.
