Oman- MoAF signs agreement for port development in Barka


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) signed an investment contract agreement on Tuesday with Falcon Tourism Investment Company for the development of the fishing port in the wilayat of Barka under the auspices of H E Darwish bin Ismail al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs.

Investment activities include a five-star hotel, restaurants, cafés, marinas, boat docks, dive clubs, excursions and various marine activities, ensuring that the standards and technical conditions adopted worldwide are implemented.

The project provides basic services for the fisheries sector and other investment and commercial services that attract investment in the port. The project comes after the recent completion of marine construction works and infrastructure development at the port.

MoAF opened a public bid in Barka in order to allow the private sector to invest and develop the port and its management and operation, ice factories, packing and processing plants, boats, restrooms and fishermen's stores.
