Jordan- Parliamentary Association, Turkish envoy discuss cooperation

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 17 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Jordanian-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Association MP Mohammad Ayasrah on Wednesday discussed with Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Murat Karagoz, issues of mutual concern and ways to foster bilateral relations in various fields.

Talks during the meeting touched on the two countries' "historic and long-standing" ties, and their leading role in the Middle East.

The two sides underscored the importance of reciprocal visits and the exchange of expertise between Amman and Ankara.

The envoy said there were a number of challenges facing his country, and called for supporting Jordan and Turkey at the official and parliamentary levels, as both countries face common challenges, especially with regard to the issue of Jerusalem.

The Turkish diplomat also said his country supports solutions to problems facing the Arab and Islamic nations, noting that weakening the Arab and Islamic nation would achieve "enemies' ambitions".
