Toby Young quits university regulator after controversial comments

(MENAFN) Following an overflow of condemnation over his controversial remarks, Toby Young has quit from a new university regulator's board.

Mr. Young justified in his writing for the Spectator that his post had "become a distraction" from his Office for Students' "vital work".

The journalist's criticized comments, he claims were "ill-judged or just plain wrong", have been apologized for.

Nearly 220,000 signatures have been collected for a petition which demands his removal.
