Jordan- ISTD denies tax evasion allegations against finance minister


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan.9 (Petra) -- Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), Bashar Saber Nasser, denied the inaccurate information accusing Finance Minister, Omar Malhas, of tax evasion and not paying income tax of the end of service gratuity for his work at the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance.

Nasser said that Malhas has revealed his end of service gratuity as well as his income in the year he received it, adding that the minister paid all the tax in accordance with the law.

The ISTD official stressed that all financial and electronic records related to this issue are documented, expressing his regret at such accusations.
