Deputy Emir chairs QU board meeting


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University, presided over the second meeting of the Board of Trustees for the academic year (2017/2018) at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. The board reviewed the implementation of its decisions and recommendations adopted during the first meeting of the academic year (2017-2018). It approved the University Calendar for the next three years (2017/2018), (2018/2019), (2019/2020), as well as amendments to the organisational structure of university. The board also approved the introduction of a number of master's and doctorate programmes as follows: Master's Programme in Genetic Counselling, Master's Programme in Religions and Dialogue of Civilizations, and the Joint Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences (Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences), and the Doctoral Programme in Fiqh and Principles of Jurisprudence. It approved the creation of three sections of the Faculty of Law: Private Law, General Law, and Legal Skills.
