Weather: Temperature to fall further in UAE

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The weather in the UAE continues to cool down, as temperatures have dropped to as low as 7-16 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country over the weekend. Misty conditions persist over some parts of the UAE too.

UAE residents can expect a fall in temperature, as clouds will increase over some areas in the country, particularly in the northern emirates, with a probability of light rainfall.

The lowest recorded temperature in the country on Friday was in Hamim - 6.9 degrees Celsius - followed by Al Jazeera B.G., where it was as low as 8.6 degrees Celsius. Al Ain recorded a minimum of 11.7 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 23 degrees Celsius while Abu Dhabi City had a minimum of 19 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 23 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Dubai dropped to 20-23 degrees Celsius, while Sharjah recorded a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) told Khaleej Times that the weather will continue to be humid at night and early morning, with the probability of fog and mist formation over some areas, particularly on Saturday.

Motorists are thus advised to be extra cautious on the roads, particularly those commuting at night and during the early mornings between the emirates.

"The cloud mount will increase gradually over the sea and northern coastal areas and may be associated with some light rainfall by Sunday late night."

The wind over the next four days is expected to be light to moderate Westerly to Northwesterly, with speed of 15-25kmph, reaching 35kmph. However, residents in the UAE can expect blowing dust during the daytime from Sunday and a further drop in temperatures.

Meanwhile, the sea is expected to continue moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea, becoming rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf on Sunday noontime.

Residents can also expect a heavy increase in the number of clouds on Monday and Tuesday, which the NCM said will be associated with some towering clouds with a chance of rainfall, as well as with some hailstorm over mountains and significant fall in temperatures over northern mountains.
