French Pres. condemns Houthis' missile attack against Riyadh

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Dec 24 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the attempt by the Houthi militia to target Riyadh with a ballistic missile.

In a phone conversation with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, President Macron voiced France's support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any threat to its security, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Sunday.

President Macron underlined the need for working to confront Iran's activities that aim at destabilizing the region, stressing his country's clear stance towards the destructive role of Iran in supporting Houthi militias and providing them with ballistic missile techniques to attack the Kingdom and the stability of the region.

He also thanked the Saudi King and the Kingdom's Government for their efforts in countering terrorism and extremism as well as their efforts in drying out the sources of terrorism, especially the Kingdom's recent support for the efforts that aim at countering terrorism in the Sahel. (end) od.ibi
