Qatar- Armed Forces to remain shield of the nation, affirms Defence Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah said that the anniversary of the National Day came this year amid a special circumstance in the region as a result of acts that far from wisdom and guidance, stressing that the armed forces will always remain the shield of the nation and the safety valve, and will be at the forefront of facing the threats that target Qatar's security and stability.

In his speech at the presentation of the 10th National Parade of the State, which was held this afternoon on the Corniche of Doha, Dr Al Attiyah said that the people of Qatar recall on the National Day of the State a dear remembrance the founder, who laid the foundations of an authentic State, and the men who received the flag after him knew how to preserve it , by building a country which doesn't know submission and humiliation.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence noted that the anniversary of the National Day came this year in a special circumstance experienced by the region because of actions far from the wisdom and guidance, pointing out that the State of Qatar in return proved to the whole world that it is superior with its leadership and patience, stressing that 'our history in Qatar is the history of peace, not wars, and a history of salvation and help, and not betrayal.

Addressing the Emir, H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Dr Al Attiyah said: 'Sir, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I congratulate you on behalf of the Armed Forces with full appreciation and gratitude for the trust and pride you have planted in us and in all the people of Qatar and all the residents of this good land, through the wise and determined positions, 'stressing that these positions protected our dear country from plotters and the region from plunging into a labyrinth which would have devastating impacts of the regional and international peace. The peace which Qatar always places in its priorities, he added.

Dr Al Attiyah said the State of Qatar wanted the reform as possible as it could, and to maintain our Gulf united and strong, while others have preferred to put it in unguided adventures. They wanted to harm their neighbours and weaken the country stood by them in good and bad, without waiting for thanks. He said that the people of Qatar knew how to overcome the ordeal to assure the whole world that they are in the heart of one man, and that any attempt to sow strife between the people and their leadership will be doomed to failure.

Dr Al Attiyah said that the armed forces are an integral part of the Qatari people, stressing that they are always at the forefront of facing threats to the country's security and stability.

Addressing the Emir, Dr Al Attiyah said: 'We are here to reiterate loyalty and emphasize that we are in full readiness for your orders, we do not lag behind and do not hesitate, 'adding that all these forces are your sons, the fruits of your good efforts in building a strong shield to protect the homeland and raise its name high among the nations. They aspire to be role models for other people who have provided over recent months honourable lessons in the fulfilment, sacrifice and steadfastness, Dr Al Attiyah added.

Concluding his speech, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence greeted and thanked all the security and military services at the Ministry of the Interior, the Emiri Guard, the Internal Security Forces, the State Security Service and the National Service employees for the sacrifices they make to ensure that Qatar and its people and all those living on its land are safe.

For his part, H E Nawaf bin Mubarak bin Saif Al Thani, Director of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defence, said: 'The world today witnessed the first production of the comprehensive development plan of the Qatari armed forces, which was evident in the National Parade today. This was the result of the strict implementation of the directives of HH the Emir, the Commander-in-Chief Of the armed forces and by HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs and H E Lieutenant General Ghanim bin Shaheen Al-Ghanim, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.

The Director of Moral Guidance confirmed that the armed forces demonstrated through the Parade today that they possess the national human and the modern military technical capabilities to defend the gains of the homeland and to cut off the hands that extend to undermine its capabilities, sovereignty and independence, and it has the ability to shake hands with outstretched peace.

'The modern capabilities that have been revealed today can only be matched by the solemn show of the spirit of patriotism and determination for all those who live on this good land in the defense of this nation and its supreme leader HH the Emir and its noble people.

In the same context, the Directorate of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defense explained that the National Parade of this year, derived from the timeless words of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Promise of Prosperity and Glory' as distinguished Parade in which all units of the Qatari armed forces participated including the Emiri Guard, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) , the Ministry of the Interior and the Police Academy, besides new forces.
