Kuwait- FM to take part in Arab meetings on US Jerusalem move


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah takes part in two Arab major meetings in Cairo Saturday, in the aftermath of the US recognition as Israel's capital.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled will attend the meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee, and an extraordinary one for the Arab League Council, on the ministerial level, the latter called for by Jordan and Palestine.

The two gatherings will focus on due Arab moves following the US step that directly impacts Jerusalem's legal and historical status.

The Kuwaiti delegation will also include Assistant Foreign Minister for Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's Office Ambassador Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Saleh Al-Thuwaikh, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Arab World Affairs Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, Kuwait's Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Ambassador Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Bakr, and a host of the ministry's senior officials.

Kuwait is a member of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee that also includes Jordan (Chair), Egypt, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Morocco, Yemen, and Syria (membership frozen). (end) msa
