(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 28 (Petra) -- Prime Minister, Hani Mulki, on Tuesday, met with presidents of Professional Associations on challenges facing Jordan on many levels, especially financial and economic challenges and the government's plans and programs to address them.
The prime minister underlined the importance of the trade unions' role in meeting its members' needs, in addition to their social role, pointing out to the government's readiness to provide support in terms of the necessary legislations related to the work of unions, which represent a large segment of citizens.
He said the government's priority, at this stage, is to focus on reforming the economy and public finances and dealing with the unemployment, maintain monetary stability and increase self-reliance as a strategic goal.
The premier made a proposal to establish a joint fund for all associations, which would contribute to enhancing their investment capabilities.

He emphasized the importance of fighting tax evasion, and exert more efforts to market Jordanian competencies and reconsider the technical allowances of union employees in the public sector.
