UAE Ambassador meets Jordanian Parliament Chairman

AMMAN, 28th November, 2017 (WAM) -- Atef Tarawneh, Chairman of the Jordanian Parliament, has met with Matar Saif Sulaiman Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Jordan.

During the meeting, Tarawneh reviewed the strong historical ties between the UAE and Jordan and highlighted the importance of strengthening their bilateral relations to broaden their overall cooperation, especially in the parliamentary and legislative fields. He emphasised the necessary and relevant role of the UAE-Jordanian Joint Committee in the House of Representatives.

Ambassador Al Shamsi said that the distinguished relations between the two countries and their people, which enjoy close and particular attention from their leadership. He also stressed Jordan's crucial role in pursuing peace and stability in the region and its vital contributions to facing regional and international issues.

Al Shamsi met with the UAE-Jordanian Joint Committee, headed by Zaid Al Shawabkeh, Attorney and Member of the Jordanian Parliament. During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially their parliamentary ties.

The committee members expressed their desire to visit the UAE Federal National Council, FNC, and review its procedural process while expressing their admiration for its performance and its developed internal system.
