(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended and honors winners of the 16th His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Informatics Award at Bayan Palace on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by senior Sheikhs, including His Highness Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah, ministers and senior state officials.
The award ceremony began with the national anthem, Holy Quran recitation, and a speech by President of the Secretariat council Sheikha Aidah Salem Al-Ali, followed by a brief documentary on the award history.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab Director Joichi Ito delivered a speech on the occasion followed by a speech given by Member of the Higher Organizing Committee Hasan Mohammad Al-Hamadi.
Other guests delivered speech on the occasion, and later Sheikh Nawaf handed over the awards of various categories to winners. (end) mb
