Qatar- Katara to host first Croatian Film Day

DOHA: Two Croatian films will be screened at the Katara Drama Theatre tomorrow during the first Croatian Film Day.

Koko and the Ghosts for younger viewers and Gnothi Seauton (Know Thyself) for adult viewers will be screened to introduce the Qatari public to Croatian cinema.

Koko and the Ghosts which will be shown at 5pm tells the story of an amusing and lighthearted adventure as the intrepid hero Koko unravels a mystery.

Gnothi Seauton (Know Thyself) which will be shown at 8pm deals in a matter-of-fact way with the most serious issues of life: Love dedication persistence hardship reward and rejection.

The film documents life’s incredible trials tribulations and triumphs of an ordinary yet incredible family made of equally ordinary yet incredible individuals whose story ranks among the most incredible stories ever told in the sporting world.

When they started the Kostelic Family was unknown then became one of the most respected skiing families in the world.

The Kostelic story is about triumphing over adversity about vision and human endurance in pursuing a dream a story that stirs emotions and grips the viewers charging them with strong positive feelings.

This film won the first prize at the Houston Film Festival.

The producer and director of the film will attend during the screening of the film and the public will have the opportunity to have a discussion with him.

The screenings is part of efforts of Cultural Village Foundation-Katara to promote the seventh art.

Films from Italy Poland and Russia are among those shown in the past as part of the programme.
