Yemeni Official lauds Kuwait's humanitarian support to Yemen

DOHA Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Minister of Local Administration and chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief in Yemen Abdul Raqeeb Saif Fateh lauded Tuesday His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's contributions and humanitarian role to ease the sufferings of the Yemeni people.
Fateh told KUNA on the sidelines of his participation in a special conference on the humanitarian crisis in Yemen that Kuwait occupied a prestigious position among world countries in philanthropic and humanitarian actions representing a guiding light for those who seek excellence in that field.
He stressed that the UN's honoring of Kuwait as a global humanitarian center and His Highness the Amir as world humanitarian leader was considered as an honor to all Kuwaitis.
The conference with the participation of 13 regoinal and international organizations is held under the theme of "the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the challenges and prospects of the humanitarian response".
The conference aims at uniting the visions of partners involved in the humanitarian efforts in Yemen. It also focuses on the exchange of information and ways to promote the follow-up mechanisms for determining the needs of those affected in the country. (end) nnd.haq
