(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held talks Tuesday with the President of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak.
The meeting between the Kuwaiti foreign minister and the visiting UN official centered on bilateral ties as well as current happenings on the international scene.
Meanwhile, Lajcak hailed the UN's close rapport with Kuwait, citing the country's unwavering commitment to global peace and security.
The encounter between the two officials, which comes against the backdrop of Kuwait assuming its non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), was attended by a bevy of Kuwaiti diplomats and foreign ministry officials. (end) msa.nam
