Prince Mishaal
(MENAFN - Arab News) Najran Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah has directed officials to speed up implementation of SR 2 billion water and sewage projects in various regions of the province.

There are a total of 181 projects, including those completed and those under various phases of implementation in the province.

He has also instructed officials to ensure the required quality and standard while these vital projects are completed.

Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Mishaal praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and other leaders for their keenness and great support of various development projects aimed at improving the services being extended to the people of Najran. He said the province is witnessing the implementation of massive development projects in all sectors.

Referring to the details of water and sewage projects in the region, Saleh Hashlan, director general of the water department in the province, said works on water and sewage projects, including dams and wells, were progressing. A number of projects, costing a total of more than SR 566 million, have already been completed. These included the expansion of water networks in Najran, Wadi Al-Yotm and Sharoura; the second phase of the project to make available water in the border villages; main and branch sewage pipelines in Najran; implementation of the first, third, and fourth groups of dams and Wadi Haj Dam; and replacing water pumps at Sharoura and Najran.

Hashlan said the projects, which are under various phases of implementation are estimated to cost SR 2.11 billion. These included drinking water networks in Najran city and the regions of Yadma, Habouna, and Badr Al-Jonoub; a water network and tank in Sharoura; and the water networks in Al-Akhashim, Hadada, and south of Al-Sharafa and Habouna. There are also several sewage projects, such as sewage networks for new districts in Najran, and Prince Mishaal District, and sewage connections to residential areas, in addition to some studies and design work for implementing water and sewage projects.
