(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Amadeus Gulf inaugurated its new headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday close to the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The strategic move, aimed at complementing the fast-growing Gulf travel and tourism sector, follows the recent appointment of Graham Nichols as managing director of Amadeus Gulf.
The new state-of-the-art technology office is conveniently located on the ninth floor of the SJ Tower in close proximity to the airlines and travel community.
Amadeus Gulf has taken advantage of the relocation to upgrade its equipment and technical infrastructure to include a highly advanced training centre. The premises also feature dedicated departments for sales, customer support, operations, finance, marketing and products.
In his role as Managing Director, Graham John Nichols will be accountable for growing the business in the Gulf region (UAE, Oman and Bahrain). He replaces Adrian Gane, who has been appointed as regional general manager - Field Sales, at Etihad Airways. Nichols has moved to Abu Dhabi joining Etihad as the Managing Director of their Joint venture with Amadeus in the Gulf region.
Earlier, while serving as vice-president, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia at Worldspan, Graham managed a large restructuring that resulted in a turnover of US250 million in the region and subsequently worked on the European integration plan for the merger with Travelport.
He has previous experience with Amadeus in his role as managing director of Amadeus UK, where he led a 4 year period of rapid growth. Speaking on his new role at Amadeus, Graham John Nichols said: "I have witnessed the steady growth of Amadeus in the region over the past few years and look forward to accelerating that by supporting the Gulf travel community."
