DOHA: In a bid to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing commercial activities, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce has carried out a surprise inspection campaign targeting car repair centres, industrial facilities and vocational workshops in the Industrial Area.

The inspection campaign comes within the framework of the Ministry's efforts to regulate markets and commercial activities across Qatar and to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing commercial activities in order to crack down on violations and uncover irregularities. The campaign, which targeted 60 centres, industrial facilities and workshops, resulted in penalising a car repair centre for operating without a licence. The centre was compelled to regulate its status in commercial licences and records. The Ministry urged merchants and shop owners to abide by regulations and laws governing commercial activities.

The Ministry also invited merchants and shop owners to learn about laws and regulations governing commercial activities by visiting the Ministry of Economy and Commerce's website on www.mec.gov.qa to avoid legal accountability and fines.
