Turkey makes first cherries export to China


(MENAFN) Turkey was unveiled by Anadolu Kiraz chairman Ihsan Beser to have made its first ever cherries export to China.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, the chairman explained the move as part of the 2013 Food Security Agreement and the 2015 Plant Health Protocol of which the two countries have inked.

Chairman Beser noted that Chinese residents in cities with a big population including Guangzhou, Shanghai and Pekin, are known for the consumption of major quantity of cherries.

Beser further added that "China imports cherries mostly from Chile, the U.S., Canada and Australia."
